The Documentation Project was started in December 2006, taking Maharashtra as a
pilot. In June 2007, the project went all-India. Today we have documentation coordinators
at the zonal, state and Information Centre (IC) levels almost all over India. The
aim is to have written and visual records for every seva activity that is being
conducted by Art of Living. Every small activity, whether it is a medical camp or
breath-water-sound workshop or a larger, ongoing initiative such as the Tsunami
relief work or work in Kashmir, everything comes under documentation. Even healing
testimonials, free or subsidized courses, courses for special groups of people (like
police, doctors, etc) are included in this project.

All information which is sent to the team is formatted or re-written and then uploaded
on www.artoflivingprojects.org. At present, most reports on the site are predominantly
from India but we are beginning to get international reports also.

The IC documentation coordinator sends information to the state documentation coordinator.
India has been divided into five zones. From the state documentation coordinator,
the information goes to the zonal documentation coordinator and then to the national
documentation coordinator. This is simply to make the process smoother.

Information on courses, experiences of participants, testimonials on official letterheads
from leaders / heads of institutes, photographs, video clippings, newspaper articles
– any and all of these would be handy.
